Hello to all and happy new year! I am a beginner and need advise to select a good non photosynthetic gorgonian for a beginner that will live on a mix of kent phytoplex, zooplex, fine mysis, frozen food juice, and crushed prime reef flakes. It will all be mixed into a liquid blend and I can feed the gorgonian as much as needed. My skimmer is being replaced next week. I am happy to see that piece of junk seaclown 100 go in the trash lol. The new skimmer will be a reef octopus BH 2000. So please list any of the gorgonians that can live on the mix. Any help will be highly appreciated!!!

I would recommend a menella gorgonian. They are a larger polyp gorgonia and are relatively forgiving of aquarist mistakes. I would nor recommend only using those foods. Azoox gorgonians are somewhat picky feeders. I wouldn't limit your food to just a certain list. You really should try out as many different foods as possible and vary their diet just like you would do any other animal. I would highly recommend Fauna Marin"s Ultra Sea Fan powder food for gorgonians as well as reef nutrition food such as oyster feast, roti feast, and phyto feast, as well as frozen cycopleeze and nutramar ova for the larger polyp gorgonians.

Good Luck and keep on asking as Many questions as you can.
