feeding question

I turn off my pumps so that my LPS corals can get to it. But if I'm just feeding the fish, I only turn off the return pump so that the food stays in the tank while they're eating.

So the answer to your question, like so many in this hobby, is it depends...in this case on what animal you're trying to feed.

I like to turn off most of my pumps just to keep them from getting gunked up with food. I still leave one on to keep the food suspended in the water column longer, rather than just falling straight to the bottom of the tank. I definitely agree with msn711, though. . .it depends. I don't think there's really a wrong answer to this question.

Feeding, I do not turn anything off. The fish do a pretty good job at getting there food, the uneatin food gets takin care of by the clean-up crew/coral.

Depends on what I am feeding.

When I feed the fish I leave the pumps running .. gives them something to chase. I have an LPS tank and tend to target feet the corals .. I turn the pump off when feeding them.
