feeding

Hi everybody--
I have a pink and purple tip anemone, and IT stays with it's tenacles stuck thru the overflow at bottom. Is this normal??
Also, exactly how do u feed 1? It was givien to me and they sais all ihave to do is feed it, but I have never seen it eat a thing!
