i was wondering if any of you dose vitimin c in your tank and if you what do you use and how much, also did it help.

also to keep hards like green slimer birds nest ect do you have to have all the fancy phos reactor, co2, and all the other stuff or will they grow with just the minimums like skimmer and uv starilizer because all mine that i have gotten has bleached out and i can not get them to grow

Unless your load is high then you should be able to keep up with your needs by doing water changes. (maybe a little Kalkwasser).

I am assuming you are using RO water with a TDS of 0. What are your lights & how old are the bulbs?

The general rule for inexperienced reefers is that if you cant test for it, dont dose it.

the 3 main ingredients for good SPS is good water quality, lots & lots of flow, and good lighting.

Just my opinion though

Don't forget calcium and alkalinity. Low alk can be a cause of bleaching as I undertand it. Also low lighting.

i have a 400watt mh and a 175 mh the 400 watt bulb i think is about due i think 5 months and the 175 is brand new and i have lots of flow i have a 90gal with 2 seio 620s and 2 hydor 3s so i think plenty so im not sure but im going to get some more corals like green slimer and monti and birds nest and try it again

Watch your nitrate & P04 also. One thing also you cant just blast your corals with flow it has to be random. If you are going to invest good money into some SPS corals then you should think about a wavemaker or something to alter your flow first. How do you have a 400 & a 175 on a 90? 1/2 & 1/2 corals might be light shocked if not used to such intense light with the 400 and starved with the 175. Did you photo acc. them? SPS are a whole different breed than softies and lps. You can grow most softies under a reg light bulb but SPS everything has to be just right for them to just live let alone grow?
Good luck with SPS just take it slow
Dave

ya i have the 400 on one side of my canopy and the 175 on the other side im going to get another 400 but i just have to find one and get the $

Honestly until you can keep and grow soft corals with ease I would say it best to maybe steer clear of the sps. It's kinda challenging for people who've had tanks for years and I'm sure super frustrating for noobs. I'm in no way trying to discourage you by any means just saying it might be easier on the mind and wallet to get some practice in softie style then move into something more difficult, Microthalima is a good beginner sps but it can be misleading, it can take alot of abuse.

i have lots of softies like shrooms and zoas, and i few anenomes and they are all growing like crazy so idk im ganna take my time and for sure try again
