few skimmate questions

The liquid pulled out by your skimmer, does it not have any salt in it? I was just thinking, when you empty that cup its got water in it too and all i add is fresh water for the topoff so want to make sure it doesnt pull out any saltwater and gradually lower my sg.

onto my other question, I was thinking (if there isnt salt in the skimmate) is it good to use it for fertilizer for plants? I would think it is full of nutrients that we dont want in our tank so it might be good for land plants.
Thanks in advance

Yes and No.

That is correct. Skimmate has salt in it and it will slowly lower your salinity over time.

Do you have a RO/DI water filter? The discarded water has good nutrients that your plants will love.
