Fiji Foundation rock

interested in 1 box of 35 lb of this rock

Is it always in saltwater already at the facility.. should it cure in 1-2 weeks.

Also I understand it is still "live" rock with life but is it just white because it doesn't have coraline on it because it's been in the dark for quite some time?

I am looking for interesting big base pieces to build my reef what other rock offering do you recommend? Would the fiji base rock be too round?

StrategicReef,

The Fiji foundation live rock comes from the very bottom of the ocean floor. It lacks the coloration of live rock that has been exposed to intense sunlight.
Once removed from the ocean the rock is under a constant mist, not submerged; it will need to be “cured” again, this may take 3-4 weeks.
The shapes of the foundation live rock are varied but can be modified with glue and/or a chisel to meet your needs.

Happy Thanksgiving!

StrategicReef,

We wanted to provide some additional information regarding the Fiji Foundation rock. Our Aquatics facility houses our uncured rock in vats where it is fully submerged. Keeping it fully submerged ensures it will be full of life upon arrival. The Fiji Foundation rock tends to be from the bottom of these vats, where it receives less light, and therefore has less coralline algae. Once re-introduced to light, and cured, the coralline algae will return.
