fiji yellow leather brown on the trunk

What is this brown stuff? Coral otherwise opens fully and extends all polyps

WHat type of lighting, yellow figi's require A LOT of light for them to keep their color.

color is not the issue, I have ATI power modules 8 bulbs x 80w each. I'm concerned about the brown spots at the base of the coral.
