Filter Sock

Hi Everyone,

I have been using a filter sock in my refugium. It needs to be cleaned every 3 to 4 days right now because it is getting clogged with the algae I am sctaping off the glass.

What is the best way to clean it. It really gets embeded with algae.

i just give mine a good rinse, get all the gunk off then wash in washer with bleach, air dry.

I soak mine in a bucket of water and bleach for a day or so, then rinse really well in the sink, and finally let air dry. If you want to make it easy on yourself, buy a couple more so you can have three socks in rotation. One dry and ready to go, one in the sump working, and one soaking in bleach being cleaned.

Run it through the washer with cap of bleach. If it smells like bleach, run it through again with just water
