Finally

I finally ordered my 30 gallon Finnex cube from OceanReeflections. I am now one step closer to having my reef tank! woohoo! I am starting out with nothing that has to do with SW. I have been FW all my life and this is all new and exciting. I know I will need salt mix, power heads, test kits, sand and live rock starting out. I am also still looking into RO units but don't know which to get. If anyone could recommend a unit and also give me a heads up on what else I would need just starting out I would really appreciate it.
When my tank arrives I will be heading out to UA to pick up my powerheads, (Sam and I already discussed them in the store) and I will also be checking to see what else they have. I was in awe of looking at the corals and fish last time I was there I barely noticed anything else.
I am planning on putting all types of Corals in the tank along with a pair of Whip Fin Fairy Wrasse and a purple firefish. Do any of you experts see any problems with this?

Check out the Filter Guys, they're a sponsor here on RC. A lot of people like them for RO/DI stuff. I'd strongly recommend getting an RO/DI unit and refractometer early on in this hobby.

My RO/DI is pretty simple: carbon block -> RO membrane (25 gpd) -> DI resin. I also have a booster pump b/c my water pressure is low.

UA has RO/DI units also. They are around $150 I think, don't hold me to that.

Make sure you have a top on that cube. I'm not familiar with Finnex tanks but both of those fish can be jumpers. I've lost a few firefish myself to not having a top on the tank.

It would be great if they did have them, then I wouldn't have to pay shipping. The Finnex has a top so I'm not too nervous about fish jumping out. Thanks for your replies.
