Finger leather not opening after months

I have 2 separate finger leathers that were fragged from the same mother, And I have had them both for around 5 months.

One of the two is always open and looks great. The other one often sheds its skin (much more often than the other). But for the past month, It has been shriveled up and pale, with no polyp extension.

Usually when it does this its shedding its skin and it only lasts about a week or 2. this time has been over a month.

Its placed about half way up in my 55 gallon, And I am running t5s, it has moderate flow. The other leather is in roughly the same area with the same flow and light intensity.

I tried to move it, but it has been migrating off the frag rock he was on and is now attached to a large rock, I don't know if i should try to pull or cut him off.

All my other corals are doing great, including lps and softies. it is close to some yellow polyps and mushrooms, so maybe it is chemical warfare?

I need some input because this has been baffling me for the past month as to what is going on.
Thanks

typically from what I've had experience on you wouldn't have issues with it being stung by a polyp or mushroom. Do you have anything else in the way of the current of it? Some corals will produce all sorts of defense mechanisms. What other corals are in your tank? I have my devils hand middle of the tank in my 75 and it's always out and looking great. You might have to move it. If you can take some pics of where it is and what's around it in your tank.

Here are a few pics. Its on the left side. Sorry about the bad quality, I am in the middle of cleaning the tank

try to move your powerhead a little away from it.

take a look at my powerheads with my leather in the middle of the tank. This picture was taken a week or two ago but it still has flow but they don't like direct flow from what I've delt with. The fact that yours was fine before is a little odd.

Ill try moving it. The power head inst aiming directly at it, so its not too much flow. But ill try moving it anyways. thanks

He seems to be doing a little better. Just the tips of each of the fingers have are starting to come out. Its standing straight up now, which is better than what it was doing.
It still doesn't anywhere near as healthy as the other one yet though.

Could take up to a month for a full change but good to hear its doing better.

I have had issue with leathers when my Alk was low. I would recommend you checking it and making sure it's in spec.

I had a toadstool once that didn't open for about 6 months after I put it in my tank. I was kind of worried about it because the other one I had looked great. I did a lot of reading on here and found a couple of people who had waited several months for theirs to open up also, so I just waited it out. Eventually it opened up when it was ready. :)
