Nice little mom and pop shop that used to be just a herp and freshwater store.
They just started stocking saltwater stuff.
Mike said they are adding more tanks - looked pretty "under construction" still (cyano in the tanks and everything).
They've got LR bins with Fiji, also fish, snails, and a decent amount of more common corals.
I assume they'll get more in as time goes on...

It's always good to have options, and Knoxville now has another. :)

I don't mind it...the smell I mean.

I used to go there to gawk at all the cool reptiles and to pick up mice for my snake, that is until Nathan went to pick up mice one Sunday and got there about 5 minutes after they'd closed. He looked in the store and someone waved at him, then smiled and shooed him away.

He looked at them like wth and they smiled again...basically laughing at him for getting there late. He was livid.

We've been going to Critter Barn ever since (and getting larger mice for cheaper).

With that being said...I do send people to Fins ad Skins all the time. I think it's a really great reptile store if you can stand the people.

yeah they have been for about a year now
That can't be - I was in there just a few months ago and there was no saltwater stuff. They all have the look of ~3 week old tanks.

I went in there once for FW stuff before I had even met Ashley and have never been back...

Was there anything you'd put in your tank there Joel???

I just traded corals with this guy Tim from Cedar Bluff who posts on n-a-n-o--r-e-e-f-.-c-o-m... he knows the owner and he said that they "just" started carrying saltwater livestock. I went their yesterday and the active construction, low stock, and cyano everywhere made me think it was recent. Maybe they've had saltwater stuff for "awhile" but it hasn't been "about a year" - I bought some freshwater livestock literally right out of the tanks that are now saltwater a few months ago. But maybe I'm nuts and none of that actually happened...lock me in the loony bin. :)

Honestly, prices seemed high to me on corals (like $69 frogspawn and $45 ordinary Ric florida with two mouths) and some stuff was pretty brown, but I'm cheap (just ask Randy :) ) and discerning (have to be with a 14g tank)... It's already better than the Aquarium for corals, not that this is saying much... I didn't pay too much attention to the fish...

I do know firsthand that they take stuff in trade and from local breeders. I've actually gotten some very nice and relatively uncommon cichlids and plants there - stuff I've never seen anywhere else.

I just dislike going to places when I know there is nothing there I will buy... I'm all about helping out LFS though, so maybe I'll stop by... Those prices don't seem extraordinarily high considering its retail...
