Hello All,
I just found my first Fire Red Bristle Worm in my tank. It was on my Zoo Coral. I would like to know should I get rid of it if I can catch it? It's no more than an 1". I just added some new coral last night would that be the culprit. I am worried that my Zoo will die I have it a in a bowl with saltwater from the tank. I also have a BTA and a Clam. Will the worm kill or bother these to species?

I have been doing some reading and everyone says I should keep as long as it is not longer than 4". Does this sound right?

It's the species that most important, not the size. Some worms - like Hermodice carunculat & Oenone fulgida - are bad at any size. Small eunicids are okay, very large eunicids of certain species are bad. One species of amphinomid - the Hermodice - is bad, the rest are okay.

Post a pic if you can. That way we'll be able to figure out what it is & what to do with it.

Don't handle it!Use tweezers .I don't know if it's good or bad but I do know that it WILL sting!

Good Luck!

if you handle it you have a chance of getting their spines stuck in you. But they are harmless and don't sting. You may get a little red around the area, the spines dissolve in vinegar. So yeah use tweezers
