No way to know unless you try. I had a firefish with my Clarki for a while, all of a sudden my clown went nuts and started attacking him. Caused major fin damage and scared the firefish so bad he wouldn't come out of the rock. By the time I trapped the firefish he died his first night in QT.

Maroons are bigger jerks than Clarkis.

What size tank would they be in?

I have both and they do fine in my 10 gallon. Each fish is different.
