Firefish compatibility?

Ok so I tried doing a group of 8 firefish...that didnt go well, so Im left with one.

So plan B. Would a red, purple and helfricki get along in a 300g?

My local fishstore told me that they were schooling fish. Started out with 5. In two months, ended up with one.

Ive seen it go both ways. Just make sure you have a nice cover on your tank. Ive lost them through some pretty small holes in my bird netting.
