I would like to get a firefish but I am a bit worried that I would never see it if I put one in our 90g.

Do you guys think one would be ok in it?

Here is our stocking list:

1 Bristletooth timini tang
1 Lyretail Anthia
1 one-spot fox face
1 blue-green reef chromis
1 clown fish (host the big thing on the far right)
1 blue cheek trigger fish (I have to catch it and remove it here soon)
1 Lawnmower Blenny
1 black sea cucumber
2 cleaner shrimp
1 Blood red shrimp
and about 12 hermits

i had one in my 80 reef with just about as many fish as you currently have. they generaly make their homes in the front part of the tank, and they are realy cool attention getting fish despite their small size. youll be able to see it

if I put one in the tank,he will not eat the shrimp, will he? My dad heard from some one that gobies eat shrimp. I know he will not. The only shrimp we have are 2 2" cleaner shrimp and a 2" red cleaner.

gobies eat shrimp, who ever told u that was stupid. Some Gobies live with pistol shrimps so the answer is now they wont eat shrimp, besides they aren't even proper gobies they are dartfish.

Well,I catch the trigger today! I was not expecting to.
I used a pop bottle with the top cut off and put back into the body of the bottle,so it made a funnel of sorts. I put some food in there and I went up stairs, come back a min. later and she is in the bottle!

My brother got a LW blenny for the tank about a week or so ago. I am going to let the tanks settle for about a month before I put my firefish in there. Thanks guys for the advice and I can WAIT to get my firefish!

I have a trio in my 75g and have yet to have one of them hide. I had one in my 20g until it jumped, but these 3 new ones havent yet showed any signs of jumping.

and they will most definetly NOT eat your shrimp! I have never kept a fish that is so peaceful, they make my FW neon tetras look like little murderers, and I assure you, I have very, very peaceful tetras!

Could I get 3 or should I just do one? My LFS sell them for 15.99 for one and 13.99 for 3. Weird,I know.

You will see them on your floor if you don't have a top or hood. Neat fish, but they jump.

3 should be fine. They are neat fish. Enjoy.

I've had 2 in my 150. My first one hung out in the middle of the tank all day. However I left the tank uncovered one week and he ended up on the floor all dried up.

The second one I added to the tank a couple of months ago. He stays closer to his hiding spot but is always out. Great little fish.

Great picture! They do very well unless there is a fish to intimidate them. They WILL jump so make sure you have a good cover.

ok,is there anything in my stock list that would bother one? Also, what would be good to use cover the back of a canopy?

No fish jumps out at me as one that would intimidate. Egg crate will NOT keep them in so you might consider acrylic or mesh. Bradlyj has a good technique.
