Firefish

About 6 weeks ago I bought two firefish from the LFS. They had a whole tank filled with them so the employee just grabbed the first two he could, I made sure they looked good after he scooped them up, them home with me they went.

I realize it's difficult to keep multiples of firefish, unless they are a pair.

Well these two always have swam right next to each other, one is the others shadow. Now recently, they just dug a little burrow under one of the LR's and that's where they both live. When I feed they come out of their little home and then they go right back in. They do swim the water column through out the day but they really prefer their little spot under the rock.


Does this sound like perhaps they have paired up? Mated pair?

Too soon to tell. If this behavior persists for a year, they are definitely bonded. Mating is also possible, but mating and bonding are slightly different.
