Does anyone else have firefighters that magically disappear for days, then randomly appear out of nowhere?

Yes, my firefish can disappear for 3 days before he pops out.

Mine will hide for 2 days for no reason I can see. Even when it gets chased a little by my wrasses it stays out, I can't correlate the hiding to anything.

Mine is spunky and is always dead center of the tank. For the first couple of months it was skiddish, but it never moves from the center anymore.

My pair is always out & about, they will go & hide during water changes or if I'm messing around with the tank.

The one I used to have would vanish completely in a 29g for several days, despite my very low (was a newbie) amount of live rock. Freaked me out a couple of times, then I kind of ignored it. I think maybe they burrow or something...

I used to keep a purple one in a 29biocube and he would often disappear for a few days and then show himself.
In my current 150, I have two firefish and they are both right in the centre of the tank the entire time the lights are on.

i have 2 fire fish and both of the hide
the purple one hides a lot more due to the fact he isn't used to having tank mates.

they got me worried a few times when they didn't come out for dinner ..
