How do I know if I have the latest firmware?
I have lost connection with my ACIII Pro AGAIN!
I am hoping I can connect again using "The unofficial new user guide"

Second question is do I try connecting to the "home" computer first then wireless via gaming adapter?

In the menu there should be a self test option. If you press select, it will scroll through several displays of text. The firmware should be 3.4_6B09 for the pro I believe.

If you are losing connection due to having the router lose connection to the wireless - make sure you have a static IP assigned for the controller. As for connecting from outside, be sure you have port forwarding set up on your router, and use Dyndns.org to create an automatic update to your home network IP assigned by your service provider. If you lose connection to them, you will lose connection from the outside world as your external IP will be changed. DynDNS.org keeps track of the change in IP and updates your external static ID you had set up with them to point to the new IP address.

Thanks for your reply, I'm a total NOOBIE to this kind of stuff... I just now was able to connect the controller to the home router, and so far so good....
I lost connection when I updated my firmware on June of last year!
My firm ware is Rev.3.40 so I guess I should update my firmware again!

Ok, I finally found out where and how to check for my firm ware and I have the current version, WOW I'm so proud of myself!

still having problems connecting to the wireless adapter....
On the wireless network mode do I choose Lan Party or Wireless Bridge?

With the help from a friend, we were able to communicate the gaming adapter and the wireless router and we double checked from two different computers. I reconnected the gaming adapter and the ACIII Pro when back upstairs to try and log in..... NOTHING! We lost connection again....
What do you think is going on?

i get my controller thursday night but I work rest of the week hope its not that hard lol. If I manage to figure it out I will let you know. But im in the same boat as you.

I ended up calling the maufacturer of my router and wireless bridge to get them to talk to each other, you have to get into each of them and set them to talk properly. Once that is done, be sure the IP on the AC3 is set to be something that is on your network. for instance if your router's IP is 168.192.1.1 and your bridge is 168.192.1.100, then set the AC3 to be 168.192.1.170 or something like that (I have 2 AC3's and use 175 and 176, one is connected via the bridge, the other is hardwired into the router). You need to be sure that your router isn't set to ignore these devices as well. If you have filtering turned on, be sure you aren't excluding your AC3 by accident. I use MAC filtering, so had to get the MAC ID for both AC3's. This can be done by temporarily disabling the filter and going into the set-up of the router/bridge and making sure the AC3 is listed as an allowable device.
