I got my first 2 corals over the weekend, a candy cane and some button polyps. The candy cane seems to be doing ok - mouth and tentacles have been open and eating, and it looks good. The button polyps, however have been closed for most of the 48 hours since I put them in. They did open for a couple hours yesterday, but looked kind of limp, and they've been closed for almost 24 hours since.
I drip acclimated both corals in the same bucket (they came out of the same tank at the LFS). I wedged the frag plugs into small holes I cut in a Tupperware container. They're sitting on the bottom of the tank, slightly off-center under my 120W LEDs (Taotronics). Those balls you see beneath them are glass marbles I put in the Tupperware to make it stay put. Flow is fairly high - in addition to my sump return, I have a 1200 GPH Maxi-jet with the reef mod that keeps everything churning.
Should I be worried about the polyps not opening at this point? Anything I should do differently?
