First real Nano semi Reef-Need Recomendations

MyMonkey

Persona Non Grata
Hello all. I have been perusing the nano threads for some time now. I have been a reefkeeper in the past. My last tank was a 2 year old 58 gallon with mostly softies. I sold out after time constraints became an issue.

I am now interested in starting up a nano tank. However, I am not certain what size I should begin with. I like the aquapod and nano-cubes. Although I am not sure which is better. I also have a 10 gallon and a 20 long AGA that are just sitting around. The 20 has a stand with it. That would be cheap to set up I suppose. Although, I like the chambers in the newer tanks out there.

I should start with what I want in the tank I suppose. Pair of Ocellaris Clowns, softies, (Shrooms, Colt, etc.) 2 inch sand bed, various inverts, and one massive cleanup crew.

Because I want a pair of Ocellaris clowns I am thinking the 24 gallon pod is best. Not sure they will fare well in a 12 gallon or less.

I want no sump or external devices if possible. I like skimmers but having one in a sump is not feasible in this tank. I have seen some nano skimmers that fit right into the tank. Not sure about those though.

Any ideas or input here?

The new 28G JBJ NC would be a good choice. I do not know if the sapphire aquatics skimmer will fit in the back since I dont have mine yet. I will know if it will fit in the next week or so.
