first time cleaning my hobaskimmer in a bucket of room water and vinegar

My question is how long should I run it for and do I have to rinse it again before I put it back on the tank?

When I had the time to do such cleaning. I'd leave it in for 2-3 hours pending how bad calcium build up is etc.... Then Id scrub it with a nylon scrubber which it easily falls off. Then a good rinse with RO water.

Thanks dragon...I left it running all night and cleaned it this morning...ran out of ro water though and rinsed with tap

I just got it back on the tank and it's running like a champ...haven't cleaned it like that since I got it

over nite vinegar bath once a year.

scrub out with brush three times a year

clean pump , impeller once a month.

The nice thing about hob skimmer EASY access.
