first timer need help!!

hey guys so im new to this whole saltwater tank scene. i currently have a 30 gallon tank and would like to start a small tank. i just have no idea what i need to get started. i would like to start out with just coral or small plants and work my way up. so please anyone feel free to voice your opinion and please let me know what i will need to get this tank going in the right direction.

I have some fast growing soft corals, great for beginners. They're called Aiptasia. They spread nicely and grow big if fed.

I have none of that, check with TrippKid, he may have the corner market on that exotic beauty. Great for nitrate and phosphate removal.

Brad is a friend of mine. LOL, he went to TFP the other day and they talked him out of a saltwater setup! I guess he thinks its too complex and complicated.

And dont be offering him any aiptasia, im trying to unload mine on him HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHh
