I had four fish in my 75g reef tank, all got ich and all died, how long should I wait before I put fish back into my tank. And what should I do before I put fish back in my tank.

6-8 weeks with no fish- have fun watching your inverts crawl around in the tank

IN the mean time- get a QT tank so that doesnt happen again.

What you could be doing is a lot of reading and preparation. You can be putting your next group of fish through a quarantine while you are waiting for your display tank to rid itself of Marine Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans).

This is what to read: :reading:

However, you didn't/don't give us much information about your system, so we don't know if there might be other problems.

When you begin again, make sure you feed your fish the best diet and provide the best water quality and environment. This is some help on feeding:

Good luck!

Alternatively,

You could take all the rock, inverts, substrate, lower salinity to between 11-14 ppt, add fish. However, increase salinity after only about 6 wks to be safe.

Since we don't know whether fish died from velvet(rather rare, but possible since you lost all four), or brooklynella, you may want to sterilize( that might be asking for too much!) before proceeding as suggested. should sterilization not be possible, also conduct period formalin dosages to tank.

I disagree. Lowering salinity levels can kill inverts.

Your best bet is to allow your tank to go fallow for two months (without adding any fish) and leave the live rock and inverts in your system. If you try to lower your salinity...anything under 1.016 ppm can harm/ kill your snails, crabs, worms etc. Also, Ich has been known to survive at 1.1011 ppm salinity levels and above, which will kill your inverts!!!!! Hyposalinity treatments (i.e, adjusting the salinity of the water to somewhat less than natural sea water) are recommended for fish only and should be administered in quarantine tanks for 6 weeks at 1.009 to 1.010 ppm salinity levels. Research first before treating any fish for Ich or other problems.

However, since all your fish are dead, just allow your tank to go fallow for two months and quarantine everything else you add to the system later on and you should be fine.

I forgot to insert the word OUT, "You could take OUT all the rock, inverts, substrate, lower salinity to between 11-14 ppt, add fish. However, increase salinity after only about 6 wks to be safe. "

No need to wait. Convert tank to a treatment tank, lower salinity to 11-14ppt and then add fish; velvet is rare, but I would also dose formalin every other day when adding new fish.
