How do you obtain a permit to collect fish in NJ?

try calling the dept of fish and wildlife...maybe google it...some states just require a fish license...

There's a research permit you can apply for but I don't know the details. I've considered doing it myself but laziness always gets the best of me.

Actually in late summer through early fall some tropicals get carried in by the current like spotfin butterfly's but I can see why you would think there's no fish because nj doesn't come to mind when you think of snorkeling.
