I have had 3 fish die but only found the last one's body to try and diagnose what the problem is.
The fish stopped eating. The next day it sat on the sand but would swim off if I tried to catch it. The third day it was barely alive and had a white patch on its side. It died shortly thereafter before I could figure out what to do. The patch was about 3/16" area. One eye was cloudy but not puffed out. Rest of fish was fine meaning good color, no dots, no bumps, fins fine, stomach normal looking.
I feel stupid because I have a QT tank setup just for this but did not recognize what was happening until it was too late.
Would this have been a fungus? Or something else? And what should I have done besides get it into the QT tank?
