Looking for help as to what is causing my fish to die for no apparent reason. One die with purple markings on its side and the other one isn't far behind it.

Looks like an internal bacterial infection, or possibly some sort of traumatic injury causing internal bleeding.

Most likely a bacterial infection, yes some types are contagious.
Is that a Yellow Coris Wrasse? I've seen many of those die from hemorrhagic septicemia. I believe there is both a bacterial and viral version of the disease.

I lost a Longnose Butterfly to this and it turned out to be an internal bacteria infection.

Unfortunately I lost them both but for future reference how do I go about treating this?
