Fish disease or fish attack?

I am posting this in the forum because I think this is likely some sort of fish affliction and not something caused by another fish or animal in the tank.

About 10 days ago my neon blue gobbie started acting lethargic. The fish would swim eratically around the tank, sometimes swimming on it's side, and other times it would lay on the sand. A few days later he started to develop what looks like tissue erosion or sore near the gill on the right side.

I moved the fish to an isolation tank yesterday and there does not appear to be any change in condition between then and now. The entire front half of the fish appears redish (doesn't really show in the picture).

The tank the fish was originally housed in has a clown fish, purple firefish, and various sps corals. I run a full set of tests at least once per week.

The only test that was outside the normal range was calcium which was well above of 500. I mistakely dripped kalk for 3 days or so after testing 450 on calcium before I realized the drip system was not properly turned off.

Any ideas what this could be? I've just about written this guy off. I am surprised every day I wake up and see the he is still alive.

That looks like a wound to me ... if so, sometimes they will clear up on their own. If you don't see progress/gets worse .. or if you see signs of a bacterial infection you should consier QTing and treating with antibiotics.
