Fish Dying...

I have a WELL established reef (10+ yrs), i bought a fish from a local place that i have never had any problems with.. no the fish was not Qed, and I guess stupidly i never have..
But it died after a couple days.. fish die.. and i understand this... but i have lost 10+ fish and they seem to keep dying.. meaning every day i come look at the tank, and i see a few more dead (40 + fish in my main display) Some of my oldest healthy fish being wiped out.. it is killing me.. and I have no idea what to do..
last week i did a water change which raised my sal from 1.024 to 1.026 could this have caused it? ( it wasnt intentional by any means) I would think my inverts would have been affected, but they seem fine.. my pipe fish and my clowns seem to be fine, i have lost pair of wrasses, couple anthias, several blue chromas, midas blenny, etc..
I dont see any white spots like ich..
what do i do? Any thoughts..?

Sounds similar to what I'm going through. My LFS treats their incoming fish with copper for two weeks. One of the rare LFS's to do this!

After losing a new bartlett's, I've been losing fish. Appears to be velvet. I've set up a hospital tank and have to get the fish out tonight to treat with copper. Otherwise it's a good bet I will lose them all.

But if you're losing them very very fast, it could be brook. My losses are happening over a few weeks. And based on their appearance, I believe it's velvet.

Maybe do some research on brook and velvet and see of you can figure which it is? I'd bet it's one fo the two.
