Go Dawgs!
How about some ideas for a "show piece" fish for my 46 bow reef.. anyone have any suggestions.i have no fish right now..but i plan on having a pair of clowns..

Wanting something peaceful/reef safe ..

thanks

a dwarf angel would be good, but thats a 50/50 chance on the whole reef-safe thing. There are a couple species of angels that are reef-safe, but they are a little expensive, like the watanabei angel, they are really pretty

Here is a pic

This one is reef-safe too

I wouldn't recommend the watanabei angel or the bellus angel for a 46 gallon bow. They need more swimming space than dwarf angels.

I would think they would be ok in a 46 gal, i used to have a 46 gal and they are pretty deep . Everyone had different openions though. You could get maroon clows insted of percula, in my openion they are prettier and get bigger, more of a "show" fish. Or how about a reefsafe wrasse, here is a couple.
they are ALOT cheeper than the angels that i posted.

According to liveaquaria, the Scott's Fairy Wrasse could be kept in a 50g tank. I've seen them at the LFS and they're gorgeous. They're more expensive than the fairy wrasses listed above, but we're talking about a "showpiece" fish. The Scott's get up to 6", while the others are usually half that size. Even better, the fairy wrasses are generally compatible together and reef-safe. I'm considering having a 75g fairy wrasse reef.
