Hi,

I am up to the stage of adding fish (or 1 or 2 to start with) to my new reef tank I am starting. I was wanting some recommendations for some small fish for this setup. I want to get 1 or 2 clown fish and down the track a Annomie for them, but I am wanting also a Mandarine Goby as well except I have read that thye can be difficult to keep. I am not looking at a Mandarine yet as they need a well establish tank but feel my tank might be too small and also I am not yet up to these fish yet.

Could you all recommend some good hardy fish for a beginner like me for a reef tank to start off with.

Cheers....

The descriptions will tell you what size tank they can go in, what other fish they're compatible with, and if they're considered reef-safe. Please realize that this information is from a seller, who may alter information in order to sell more. Check with other references. Oh, and forget about buying the mandarin for a while. Read about it.

Just make sure you

ok I was looking at getting a pair of Ocellaris Clownfish to start off with. What do you all think of this?

I do not yet have a Anemones but plan on getting one as soon as I can (with my tank being right). I must ask if all Damsels are as bad to keep as blue Damsels for there aggreisive nature.

I have had my 50 gallon running for 2 months. I started with live sand I got from the ocean and water from my buddies tank. Then a week later I got two clowns. Then I bought a coral beauty a week after that and then a yellow tang a couple weeks later and finally a auriga butterfly a few weeks after that.
