Fish for my 58gal?

I have a 58gallon tank, 36"x18x21.

Currently I have a single clown, and a purple pseudochromis.

I want more fish to look at, and also to help feed my nutrient starved tank. This size seems too small for most. What would you guys suggest? I want to really up the bioload.

Thanks.

Perhaps a fairy wrasse?

For the size a dwarf angel would be fine, but since this is an SPS tank, that would involve some risk.

For my 58 ( sps, clams and Haddoni anemones ) I have a pair of pink skunks, a fairy wrasse, a Potter's angel, and a golden sailfin blenny.

I had a beautiful radiant wrasse for two months. My tank was covered by eggcrate, but I still found that fish dried next to my tank one day.

I'd rather keep my top covered, and I don't have any better alternatives to the eggcrate.

Maybe I'll go the angel route...

That is true, and I've been taking a chance for the last year -- open top.

While each angel is different, I have had good luck with Potter's and Flames not touching SPS.

Any other suggestions?

The tank is too small for anthias, right? And 3' is too short for a tang or trigger, no?

I had the 58g. too and I wouldn't put a tang or trigger in it--too small.

What about a tailspot blennie and a small shoal of blue/green chromis?

too small for a tang or trigger, those fish need room. i would say you could do the angel and a royal gramma, or a small school of green chromis is always impressive, and cheap.

I'd suggest fish from any of the following groups: Chromis, dwarf angel, blenny, goby... look here for other Nano Fish that you could keep several of...

Maybe a Cardinal or two... I'm doing a 65 and will stock with mostly smaller fish in pairs or trios (when appropriate)... if any of them mate/spawn it's just more food for the reef (won't try to raise anything for a while yet... no room at the inn ;) )

let us know what you decided and post some pics here as well

Hope that helps some,
later

I'm in a similar predicament, maybe we can share ideas. 50G 4' tank, no sand, eventually will be SPS dominated, only a pair of clowns at the moment. Looking to add fish, going for the lots of small fish approach. I was thinking:

Clownfish pair (present)
Blue cleaner goby
Green banded goby
Blenny (Goldentail combtooth or Canary)
Fridmani pseudochromis (which you have)

And, if any room is left, a cardinal or two. I'm looking at the above because they're all available tank-raised.
