Could be the Banana wrasse but there are several Thalassoma that look very sim to each other. How about a better photo?

unfortunatly i cant get another picture it was from a friend who had it sent to them from someone they know. i could try to get one
i was thinking sunset wrasse, and your right there are alot of thalassoma that look alike

Yes there are several that are similar (T. hebraicum, T. lunare, and T. newtoni of the ones in the aquarium trade), but none too close... that is 100% Thalassoma lutescens... they hybridize in Hawaii with T. duperrey... these hybrids are sold in the trade from time to time and there are a few on display at the Waikiki Aquarium... but that beautiful fish in the photo is full blooded...
