Fish ID

Sorry about the bad pics but just trying to get an Id on this guy. Was sold as a fairy wrasse but not sure. Any help would be great.

Weird. I just bought one myself and it too was labeled as a Fairy Wrasse. It looked horrible at the LFS as the lighting there is less then ideal (too blue) as the colors on the fish was drab. When I got it home, it is a bright reddish-pink with purple fins and very cool looking

Anyways, it is a Blue Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus cyan's) and mine looks like this:

Another species that is very close in appearance is a Filament Wrasse as a FYI.

Thanks for the reply, looked really close to the carpenters flasher wrasse that is in the tank but not as dark. I think it looks more like the filamented flasher wrasse. Thanks again!

No problem. I am very happy with mine for they are beautiful and the older they get, the more striking they will appear. Enjoy your new friend!
