Fish injury/disease?

My royal gramma has been laying near the heater lately and I noticed half of his body looks like this:

His fin looks like it's been burned, and he won't use the fin on the injured side of his body. Is it a burn from the heater - the rest of the fish are okay.

I couldn't see the picture. How long have you had the gramma? Can you put the heater where he can't get to it? A sump or overflow area?

I've had him for almost two weeks now. Sadly no, I don't have anywhere else to put the heater. I have two smaller heaters, one on each end of the tank, rather than just one large heater. I moved the heaters now so he can't wedge himself inbetween the glass and heater. I'm not really sure why he was hiding there, but I figured it was just the fish's personality. Some days he'd find a little cave in the rock and stay there, other days he'd come out and swim around. He's eaten every day without issue.

Here's one of the images in case anyone else cannot see the imgur album.

This fish is in bad shape and it is not from the heater. It looks like it has brook or velvet. Do you have any formalin or Quick Cure on hand?

Yes, but he did not make it through the night. I woke up in the morning and he had already passed. None of my other fish have any signs at all. Should I treat the tank?

You will have to treat all of the fish in a QT. You can not use formalin or chloroquine phosphate in a main tank. There is a new stickie at the top of the forum regarding parasites.
