Fish or Inverts first?

Which should go in my tank first? If the first fish I want to add is a pair of pink skunk clowns, can i also add an anemone? How are they for a first time reefer? When should i begin to add calcium and alk supplements?

I would add a cleanup crew first. You could add the cleaner shrimp at this time too. I would begin testing your alk and calcium and start dosing as needed. A good 2-part works well. I use Randy's 2-part recipe.

Do this only AFTER your cycle has finished and the tank has stabilized.

Anemones take some experience. They can be a difficult creature. I would suggest waiting no LESS than 6 months befor adding one to a new tank. If you are truely interested in kepping anemones, do your research

agreed. however i threw mine in at 1 and a half months, a few weeks after the cycle ended. hes been doing great so far. is it really my fault my LFS sells anemones for alot cheaper then really common boring corals. but research is where its at, look on this page for where it says anemone faq. it has a tonne of info.
