fish recommendations

hello, I do know there is a fish compatibility section however I just wanted to ask everyone about stocking a 3foot 70 gallon tank. anyone that has a tank like this maybe can help, currently I have a pair of clowns and a fire shrimp. thinking of some nice wrasse's ? and goby and anthias maybe 6-10 fishes . also input on inverts as well. I have a 200 gallon rated skimmer so I can load to the max I would assume. thanks

just because you have a large skimmer doesnt mean you should get crazy with stocking.... you will end up with aggression issues with too cramped of a space. I wasnt a big fan of wrasses seeing them at my LFS but after being talked into buying one, they are now my favorite fish. I have 3 in my 40 gallon. I have a long finned fairy, mccoskers, and a solon wrasse. When I do my upgrade to a 200 next year I will be adding a mystery wrasse and a couple tangs. I am a big fan of tangs but Id steer clear on them in anything less than a 120. They get very territorial. Just my opinion but if I were you, add a couple fairy wrasses, a goby or two, and maybe an algae blenny.

The fish you mentioned would be good. Just make sure it's not a mandarin goby (dragonet). That wouldn't be good in such a small tank due to lack of copepod population, unless you have a huge fuge you didn't mention. I'm partial to my wrasses (any of the smaller reef safe ones) due to color and character. A basslet is also a fun choice. Just a small point on an algae blenny, these are interesting for sure but make sure you have enough algae around for them to eat, or be sure to supplement them with it. You wouldn't want it to die on you.

Thanks for the input. I do have a sump and fuge. I'm think about 2 anthias as they school would like more but tank it too small. I have two clowns you think they will be aggressive if I introduced the new fish. Is there any tricks tips when introducing new fishes ?

What kind of clowns? Also, remember that anthias need multiple feelings every single day. That's the main reason that has kept me away for
So long is the amount
Of feelings necessary.

I believe they are ocellaris but then im confused could be true prec. yeah I didn't think about the feeding part. any other fish recommendations ?

I wouldn't think you would have trouble introducing other fish with occelaris or percula, unless they are mated and have eggs. As far as schooling fish go, you are going to be incredibly limited in a tank that size. If you want just s group, you could do chalk bass. Most people report chromis gradually take each other out. Until you get a larger tank, think 6 ft, and can commit to many daily feedings then I would avoid anthias.

You might be able to do a dwarf angel, but that should be the last fish added. Look at liveaquaria and see what strikes your fancy. In each section there will be a narrow your results tab, choose a minimum aquarium size to see what the options are.
