well, I was thinking, When the new tank goes up I am using 100lbs of marco rocks and just a few of my old rocks. Will this cause problems with water quality? I soaked them for a couple of days and scrubbed them the get some dirt off but now I am doubting how safe they will be when I switch everything over.

Could anybody house my fish for a few weeks until I am sure they wont all die?

or do you have a suggestion on what I should do.

Thanks

The marco rock will need to be cured, so yes, you do need to find a home for them for awhile. Sorry, I can't help in that dept, but if you've got the rock, get it curing now, and push back the swap as long as reasonably possible.

I think there is some large containers throughout the group that you could put your rock in to cure, just throw in a power head, heater and skimmer.

My thought.....

If I can find temporary homes for my fish, I think I am just going to set the new tank up and let it run for a month empty to cycle it, and then reintroduce the live stock.

I plan on using the water from the old tank and a little bit of the sand.

Is this a bad idea?
