Fish That Are Not Prone To Ich

What would be some hardy specimens for a 29 gal tank that are not easily prone to ICH. I was thinking about a flame hawkfish and either a clown or black cap basslet. Does anyone have any good suggestions!

QT your fish with a copper treatment- and put a steralizer on the 29- and your ich problems will be greatly reduced.

Sorry..but this is dangerous advice. Certain fish cannot tolerate copper...so a blanket statement like this could kill a fish.
Fish that are'nt as ich prone are ones with a heavy slime coat. Gobies and Blennys are the best in this respect. I would be careful w/ the black cap basslet...not the hardiest fish in my experience. The hawkfish can succomb to ich like any other. If you are going to QT..just do so for observation. If you see ich ,hypo-salinity if done properly is the safest and most effective remedy.

Before you do hypo-salinity you need to id the problem first as hypo-salinity works against ich but not other dieases.

Being an informed hobbist that makes good choices, decisions and does a good job is your best defense against ich.

Stress from poor water, poor collection, not enough hiding places, etc. fuel the disease. Learn how to care for them and pick them out.
