Bad, IMO. I have one now that picks at my sps. Here's a link to a post of mine not too long ago. I will be removing him when I switch over my tank to another room. I will never keep one with SPS in the tank now. HTH. Sean.

I had one in my reef also it pick on my SPS and clams i got it out when the angel jump in the overflow .

Good luck so far. It pics on everything and doesn't seem to focus on any one coral. It'll take a nip at anything, mostly the live rock.

oh, by the way the Flame Hawkfish is a nice fish love him, but can eat shrimps and snails, good luck with your choice,

I had one in my 60 gallon reef for 3 years and it never seemed to bother anything of mine. But then again I fed min 3-5 times a day.

thats what i thought to. if you can train him to not bite the corals

You just have to watch them. Sometime you can feed heavily to curb their tendancies to nip corals and sometimes it doesn't work. I like angels and I don't mind having a few corals nipped at to have a really pretty fish like that. But had a small tank so it was not too much difficulty to remove him if things got way out of hand.

I have four shrimp two red and two cleaners with my Flame Hawkfish for over three years now no one problem so far .

My flame angel doesnt touch anything. Neither did my potters, or my coral beauty

I try five different Dwarfs angels. They all nip on my corals and clams , some more than others even on my seven foot long reef tank.
