Flame Angel

Has anybody had long term success with the flame. I've heard that a lot are cynaide caught and die within a couple of weeks. I really want one am unsure where to buy from or should I get something else.

They're probably one of the best of the pygmy angels to get as they're the hardiest and live the longest of the group. Never heard any of them being caught with cynaide though.

keep your water quality up and all should be ok, I am rather partial lto coral beauty angels though. I find them more attractive and they cost less than the flame angels.

My Flame has been with me for around 8 months now and has been a little cracker from day one....

He started chasing my recently introduced LemonPeel but has given up now.

Interestingly, whilst the LP likes to chow down on the nori clip, the Flame never touches it. Eats flake, pellet and all types of frozen, though...

There is a better chance that the Coral Beauty will be cynaide caught and die form the effects of cynaide.

I've had mine a little over two years w/ no issues. He's plump and just gorgeous! Best I can tell, he eats everything.

Here is mine going on seven years now.

I think most people have good luck with flames & coral beauties...it might help to express your concern to your LFS - if they're honest they'll let you know how theirs have faired from their particular supplier

These fish seem to be doing fine for a couple of months & then suddenly decline & die

HTH :)
