Flame with fin rot?

I have had a flame angel for about three weeks now, and he has always been a showoff...attacking all of the food first, swimming to the front of the tank whenever anyone walks by, etc. However, I noticed this morning that his back fins look very ragged (both his tail fin and the blue/purple sections of fin on the back of his torso), which I was very careful to check for when I got him. I tried to take a picture, however, he apparently is not camera-friendly at the moment.

HELP!

The flame angel is my favorite fish and I will do anything to save him! He had two tank mates, a clownfish and a pseudochromis, both of whom are very peaceful, so I don't think that either of them nipped him (not to mention the fact that he's the biggest one!). I am VERY VERY NEW to the hobby and have absoluely no idea what to do. Can anyone help me?!?!t

It may be a water quality issue, or a bacterial infection. What are your water parameters?

id say bacterial infection too...but clowns and psudos are notorious for attacking new tankmates so keep an eye on them
