flashers with anthias

I am hoping that someone who has flasher wrasses and anthias will be able to help me out with some information.

I have a reef tank that I started adding corals to about 6 months ago with mostly sps. I want to get various plantivores as they are very unlikely to chew on the corals.

I currently have a group of different flasher wrasses and plan to add a number of fairy wrasses, but I also would like a group of small peaceful anthias. I read what I can, but there is some conflicting information as the fish are individuals and the same species may come from different sides of the world. My concern with the anthias is that I have seen where they are not compatible with flashers in compatability tables. Do you think that something like Sunset anthias would be fine with my flashers? And with future fairies?

The tank is 94x36x36.

Flashers: I have a McCosker, Carpenters, filamented, dot-dash, and royal.
Tangs: I have a black and Tomini. I may get rid of the black tang as it is fairly aggressive.

I want to get a blonde Naso and Blue tang (wife).

I woud like to get a pair of Lineatus, Rhomboid, and Exquiste fairies. I would also like to get a few single males such as a Flame and orange-back.

I was hoping I could get a group of Sunset anthias and perhaps a pair of swallowtail angels.

I want everything to get along and the fairies are my top priority.

I would suggest that you get a pair of flame wrasses otherwise the single one will lose coloration. I don't see why your stocking list won't work unless your dimensions are in centimeters.

Nice choice for your tanks footprint

The lineatus will be the most aggressive - make sure to get the smallest possible & should be the last fairy added

The Orangeback will be the most passive wrasse of your list, but will fit in with your grouping without any issues

Sunset (parvirostris) is a nice choice that is often overlooked due to there smaller size and peaceful tendencies

Any of the available Genicanthus will fit in nicely

I want everything to get along and the fairies are my top priority.

There should be no severe aggression issues with your stocking list. Just remember to take it slow & always try to purchase small juveniles. As you would expect there will be some minor squabbling in your labrid population to determine the tanks social order

I thought that Flame wrasses kept heir color without a female. The wrasses that lose color tend to be the darker (blue or green) ones. I remember seeing a list of wrasses that tend to lose their color, but I can't find the link

The PacificIslandAquatics sponsor posted recently that the female Lineatus were devils and to get a large male as they are more mellow. I also remember reading that a few people said their Lineatus male was king of their tank. Can anyone add to this

This wrasse is in the blue group, so I think it might tend to lose its color without a female, but I haven't seen any females for sale. Thanks for this info. I have read that they are deep water anthias and may have trouble adjusting to a bright aquarium. I think I'll risk it though.

I've been pretty patient so far. Of course the cost of the fish helps force patience.
