Flatworm exit dip

Hi guys,

I currently use revive for my coral dips. However, I want to use flatworm exit also in my dipping procedure. Can I use it in the same dipping water as the revive? Or should I make a separate container? Also, How much flatworm exit and interceptor should I use in a 2 gallon dipping container?

Flatworm exit should tell you by the directions. I think it was 4 drops per 5 gallons? Just divide it and there you have your 2 gallons.

Just curious why you are you adding FWE to your dip procedure. Wouldn't it be easier just to treat the tank directly if you ever have a problem with the red planaria FWs? I think it has been confirmed many times that FWE is a reef safe treatment.

Are you doing it because of AEFW? I've always read that FWE is innefective for AEFW and you would be better off treating AEFW with an iodine based dip like revive or TMPCC or fluke tabs.

FWE is a great product as it can be safely used in a display tank, but its kind of pointless for dips as it doesnt kill the really bad guys you should be afraid of, and what does kill them kills the common planaria easily.

I would dip it in different water and use twice what the directions say. The corals will be fine, but some planaria need higher doses to kill them. Planaria can get out of control. Better safe than sorry.

If your using FWE for AEFW it doesn't work. If your using it for just plan old FW, TMPCC or revive will give you the same results and kill AEFW's.

I dip all new corals in a double dose of FWE, then a double dose of TMPCC and then Revive before they go into QT. In QT they get two treatments with Interceptor and sit there for a while before they get to the display.
