floating gue

any one know what this stuff is it looks like a big snot with little white dots inside floating around my nano i removed some yesterday and there's more today

Is it web like? If so Vermid snail. They shoot a web out to capture floating particles. They can become plague like in a tank. Personally I hate them and try to kill any I see in my tank.

I cut my hand on one today while cleaning my tank. I'm not to fond of them myself.

i have a couple in my tank, thought they were kinda cool, in a wierd sick way so i left them alone. never seemed to multiply. mine do not move. the web always come from the same 3 locations in the tank. maybe its not the same thing? any one know if it is?

There a tube snail, don't move. If I were you I'd putty over them asap

I just tare my as close to the base as possible,or stick something in the whole.

Why are the tube snails bad?

For one there ugly... but really they cast a web out that gets on your corals and causes them to close up. It doesn't seem to be relly bad for them but it can't be good. plus there ugly

Like it was mentioned earlier, aside from aesthetics, the major pitfall is their tube homes can be razor sharp which can make working in your tank or moving rock itself really fun.

mine have never spread. i dont think they are the same. they appear to be bigger than the hole in a pen for the ink stick.

I've got the larger ones to. bout the size of a pencil. If they are pestering something I pop them off with a butter knife othe wise i leave them alone.
