flow for fowlr?

is it okay to have low flow?

i added two 6025s that are modded to my 75, but my fish are afraid to come out and the flow seems too much for the slower moving ones

theyre supposed to push out 1,100gph~ the way they are, plus i have a return from my 9.5 mag drive throttled back a bit

assuming i have 500gph from the pump and 1,100gph from the powerhead, its be about 21x in the tank, as opposed to 36x turn over, would it be enough for a fowlr? am i going to have any problems with algae like cyano??

I have had three modded 6025's in my 50 gallon FOWLR for a few months now and my fish love it. I have a Potters Angel, a Bimaculatus Anthias, and a Purple Firefish. It is also a barebottom tank and I have the pumps aimed diagonally down to keep all particles moving up and towards the filters. Anyway I don't think it is too much flow, just give your fish a day or so to adjust. Oh and I just started to get a dusting of red on the bottom of my tank so I might be fighting cyano here shortly.

thanks for the response, i keep losing my threads. im not bb but i have fine sand instead. with the second one it was hard to keep the sand from blowing. it seems like once it hits the flow of the returns+ the other powerhead itll cause it to blow sand around

I think it will be better in the long run to be a little on the high flow side, the fish should get used to it as long as you have it dispersed. You might want to consider the mod that disperses the flow on the nanostreams into a wide gentler path.
