Hi everyone...

I have never kept SPS corals. I wouls like to start. My lighting (3 250 watt MH) I think are ok. I would like to just do a few SPS. As far as flow, I have 2 802 powerheads, def. not enough !! How much flow and what products would you recomend for me? Right now, I just keep lps, mushrooms and polyps and all is well.

Thanks...

A 2HP evinrude outboard should do the trick! :) I would look into a few tunzes or Maximods and you should be set. Someone else can chime in with the sizes b/c I don't know them but definately a few of either on a controller. Welcome to the SPS club!:)

My 150G is 6'L x 18"W x 30"D. Whats yours?

Anyway this size 150G is a pain to get good flow in. It is like a big 55G. Long tall and narrow.

Right now I have:

2x MJ 1200 prop mod in the upper back corners pointed in and down.

800GPH return after SCWD and head loss.

SEIO 1100 and a CAP 2200 on detritis duty behind the rock work.

With all of that I am still planning another 2 prop mods but I will get rid of the CAP when I do.

For you tank I would get two of the MJ1200 prop mods and add them up top. Keep the SPS in the good flow and high light an dnot beat up your softies.
