Flow in the fuge?

I'm curious as to why you read that you shouldn't have any flow in your fuge. Do pods produce better with less flow? My fuge ( about 5 gals) just has LR rubble and chaeto in it. I've been considering adding a MJ 400 in there just to get some movement. I have my two heaters in there and I though this may help with the dispersion of the heat.

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

I think that they are talking about a sump/ fuge combo. Where half is a sump and the other side is a fuge. I have read also many recomend a lower flow rate through the fuge side. Not sure why either. I run full flow through both overflows into the fuge side and sump/skimmer side, with only a filter sock on the outlets to slow flow down a bit. Works for me. Huge pod population too.

I think the purpose is that you want the water to have a little hang time, for the lack of a better phrase, in the fuge. You want to give your macros time to do there thing. My LFS guru suggested 3-5 times fuge volume turnover rate.
