Flow Placement

I have a Koralia 4 and wondering what is the best way to aim this to get maximum flow.

Have it lower and aim it in the direction of the surface water?

Have it more towards the top and aim towards bottom , not directly but at an angle?

Or have it shoot across the length of the aquarium fairly level pointing towards opposite side glass?

Thanks !

all the above..... which ever results in less "no-flow" area's, while at the same time creating surface agitation. surface agitation is most important, but you might need more than one powerhead to avoid "no-flow" area's. good to ask for suggestions, but it takes experimentation to find the powerhead position which suits your tank best

Agreed, I'd return the #4 and get two of the #3's or 2"s, depending on how much flow you are aiming for. Easier to work with 2 powerheads than trying to make one large work for ya.

Thanks guys.

I actually have my return flow which has two tubes as part of my megaflow, and these are hooked up to a 800gph pump and the Koralia is 1200gph.

I am thinking about adding an additiona #3 or #2 as well.

Hope this clarifies it, I am just trying to get an idea where is best place to aim. My original thought has been to use the two tubes from my megflow for surface agitation, but want to make sure it is enough.
