I am planing a new system and I have a 240 gallon tank that I want to make a sps tank. I think I have everything else taken care of but flow. I have a super squirt and a dart would you tee off and use a wavy sea on one side and the SS on the other? would that be enough? plus about 1200 gph return. or a Barracuda and 2 SS or one SS and 2 wavy sea's or some kind of tunze stream set up? I just can't see putting 700-800 in tunzes.

I do not like tunze...they are over priced and just big, ugly and bulky in the tank...now I seem to be in the minority on that one...but to each his own. I do not think a dart will be enough in that tank...If I were you I would get 2 darts, run one dart on the SS exclusviely, then the other dart "t'd" to two wavy seas if you like those... That would give you enough flow...if you T the single dart with the SS and a Wavy sea, i think you will lose a lot of flow... I do not like wavy seas either, but would do those over tunze...

Or you could just do the SS with a dart and then get another dart and just have that one run constantly, and when the flow from the SS hits the constant flow from the other dart, that should create quite a random mess of flow.

I just realized that the SS is rated for 2500gph, the dart might be a little big for that..., but go with a smaller pump on that and use the dart for constant flow....

well I already have the SS but I could get the bigger pump and run the second SS would that be enough flow?

Yeah, that would be enough...and with seqeunces you can throttle them back, if it ends up being to much flow...but I would rather have to much then not enough.

I ended up with a baracuda pump and a OM 4 way V3. and the return of 1200+ is this going to be enough alteast to start with? I know that I will have to adj after the coral get big. but since I am starting over it will be a wile.

On my 225 I have 3600 dolphin ret, + 2 seio 1100+2 seio 1500. I have almost 40x turnover, and sometimes I dont even think it is enough.

I think tunzes are waaay overpriced also for what u get...
