Fluidized bed and floss.

the water from my tank is sent through a sock while entering the sump, I was wondering if I could help keep the water clear by filling this sock with filter floss, or if there was somewhere else I could keep floss to keep the water clear.

Also I have seem some things on fluidized bed filters and have read that they keep the water really clear, but how do they work? Do they work well? Would it be a good idea to add one to my 112 g?

What about a UV Sterilizer, or would that only do harm b/c this is going to be a coral intense tank? What is the best way to make sure the water in this tank will be kept clear?

Carbon will take out chemicals aswell as any detritus...
change the carbon once a month.....
UV ...yeah you can use, but keep in mind that it will also kill "good" stuuf aswell (which includes any free floating coraline algea....).

To me, it sounds like you need a mechnical filter.....
